Fierce Advocate for Houseless and Land Defender: Klee Benally, Diné (Navajo)Activist & Musician, passes at 48

Klee Benally, a prominent Navajo activist and musician with Flagstaff roots, passed away at the age of 48 on Saturday, December 31, 2023.

According to a report in the Navajo Times, Benally hailed from Dziłyíjiin, Arizona, and belonged to the Tódích’íi’nii and Wandering People clans. Throughout his upbringing, Benally received a deep education in traditional Navajo culture from his father, Jones Benally, a renowned hataałii (medicine man).

Indigeversal Mural Arrives at Trackside

On a smokey weekend at Waypoint Park in Bellingham, WA, Indigeversal Collective installed a massive 160 foot mural at the entrance of the park. On August 18-20, a team of extremely talented artists from Coast Salish to Cherokee origins spent 3 days painting in the Coast Salish and form line design styles associated with Pacific Northwest tribal nations.

Dallas Goldworth (Dakota and Dine') co-founded the Indigenous comedy group The 1491s and currently contributes to the series Reservation Dogs. In addition he is an environmental activist and performing artist. Dallas is a Dakota culture and language teacher, as well as, a poet, traditional artist, and powwow emcee.
